Yes, our app is absolutely free! Our aim is to encourage you to wear your clothes more. Once you want to go shopping, we aim to guide you towards purchases that match your style and what you already have in your closet. We are also curating businesses that are trying to follow more sustainable and circular practices in their operations. We’re already onboarding second hand and vintage shops, rentals, local businesses, businesses who follow closer the Eco-Design principles when designing their products, and businesses who pay attention to the who is making their clothes and their working conditions!
VÒNG is currently compatible with all Android and iOS devices, including smartphones and tablets.
Yes, currently the app is available in Greek and English. However, we’re dedicated to inclusivity, and soon, you can expect to use the app in many more languages. Our goal is to ensure everyone can access and enjoy the app without limitations.

The ones about cybersecurity and your privacy
No, but we suggest that users be at least 13 years old to use the app. VÒNG is designed to provide a safe and secure environment for users of all ages. Your safety and well-being are our top priorities.
The main permission our app requires is access to your photo files and camera. By having access to your photos and camera, you can seamlessly upload images of your clothing items, digitize your clothes, and enjoy all the features of the app. Also, location access is required to provide you with tailored services based on your geographical location. For instance, we offer services like mending, tailoring, workshops, etc., which are location-specific. Additionally, we provide you with information about nearby donation points or used clothes containers for responsible disposal of clothing you no longer need, based on your current location.
Data transportation layer: All data transferred between our application, infrastructure and Firebase is encrypted using HTTPS, which ensures data confidentiality during transmission. This encryption prevents unauthorized access or tampering with sensitive data, such as login credentials and personal information, while it travels over the internet.
Data storage: Firebase Storage Security Rules force access control mechanisms to stored files. Upon conditions based on user authentication and authorization access is restricted.
Authentication & Authorization: Firebase Authentication provides robust user authentication mechanisms, supporting various authentication methods like email/password, phone number, social media logins (Google, Facebook, etc.), and more. It handles user authentication securely, preventing unauthorized access to your application and therefore unauthorized access to user data. Authorization rules are also defined to restrict access based on user roles, data ownership and other custom conditions, ensuring that users can only access the data they’re authorized to.
Reducing Database Exposure/ Database Access Control: Not exposing databases directly to the internet enhances security by limiting access points, enforcing access control, and facilitating the implementation of additional security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access and potential breaches. This way, attackers have fewer entry points to launch direct attacks.
Data backup and recovery: We regularly keep data backups as a disaster recovery procedure to ensure that data can be easily recovered in the event of loss or corruption due to cyberattacks, natural disasters, or other incidents.
