The thought that sparked the idea of VÒNG...
What is humanity’s most powerful weapon? Knowledge!! With that in mind, VÒNG was created! Fashion enthusiasts, environmental activists and tech devotees joined forces under the coordination and guidance of Zelus, a tech start-up based in Greece, to create a solution for all those who want to do something to contribute to a more sustainable way of living, but don’t know where to start from.
So we thought...

Start with your clothes!
Everybody wears clothes! The fashion industry is more complicated than you may have ever thought though, and one of the biggest polluters globally! There are many root causes for this but one of the most important is overproduction which leads to overconsumption and eventually: waste. So we came up with an idea to trigger a change! To help every person wear their clothes and minimize the waste generated by throwing them away. We won’t lie: It requires some effort from everyone’s side. But we’ve tried to minimize it and make it so that anyone who joins the VÒNG community can rip the rewards very shortly. Get recommendations on what to wear (eternal dilemma for many), where to find what you need (avoid impulsive purchases that you end up never wearing), how to give a second life to your clothes (make them last longer and perhaps also a friend happy ;-)) and much more.
Οf course, we are realists. We know we’ll all keep on buying stuff and throwing them away. That’s why we continuously review a great number of businesses and organizations to help you make informed choices when you go shopping or tossing. You cannot imagine how many gems of businesses there are out there, who are smaller than your usual suspects when it comes to go shopping but pay so much attention to the details of their products and their style as well as making sure that their is business is operating in ways that are kind with humans and nature.

Our team
Our team lead is Dora. She lives in the Netherlands where she got introduced to the concept of Circular Economy about 10 years ago. She saw its potential impact in multiple concepts. Following the European trends and closely watching the technological breakthroughs she thought of a Circular Fashion idea that could turn into a large scale solution that can change the way people consume and business work.
Maria is the living link of what our users want and need now and what they can achieve with VÒNG. She joined early on the team, bringing her experience as an environmental engineer and her background in the textile business. With a love for fashion and a shared passion for sustainability, they’ve been shaping VÒNG together with Dora ever since.
Behind the scenes, our amazing tech team makes it all work. Antonis is the main developer behind what you see in the app. Manos has shaped most of what you don’t see but makes the app work, keeping things running smoothly. Vasilis is working on our AI-enabled smart features that help you get outfit suggestions from the clothes you already own and soon from what you don’t… 😉
We’re a small team with a big goal… to help everyone fall back in love with their clothes and to help businesses who are striving to work in a mindful way for the environment and people to be rewarded for it. VÒNG makes it easier to shop more mindfully, starting from our own closets. The fashion industry has a huge impact on the planet and by adopting everyday habits, like wearing what we already have, choosing carefully what we buy, and paying attention to where it comes from, we really can make a difference.
